New Oldies

A bunch of new books from various awesome series that have been around for some time (hence the new oldies thingy) have come out lately:

A Conspiracy of Kings from the Thief Series by Megan Whalen Turner (4th book–I have no idea if she’s going to have another one…if she does, it better be good because I think this fourth one wasn’t very good)

The Necromancer from the Alchemyst Series by Michael Scott (4th book)

The Keys to the Demon Prison from the Fablehaven Series by Brandon Mull (5th and FINAL book)

The Inside Story from the Sisters Grimm Series by Michael Buckley (8th book–geez…)

Wow. Look at that. Some other books that I am waiting for are:

Black Heart of Jamaica from the Cat Royal Series (5th Book) by Julia Golding

Bitterblue from Graceling/Fire Series by Kristin Cashore (3rd Book)

The Exiled Queen from Seven Realms Series by Cinda Williams Chima (2nd Book)

Mastiff from the Legend of Beka Cooper Trilogy by Tamora Pierce (3rd and final Book!!!!)

Havoc from the Malice Series by Chris Wooding (2nd Book)

The Atlantis Complex from the Artemis Fowl Series by Eoin Colfer (7th book–this actually looks kinda cool considering the books were getting kinda weird towards the 5th and 6th ones)

One of Our Thursdays is Missing from the Thursday Next Series by Jasper Fforde (6th Book)

Well, I think that’s it. sigh…

***The Most Annoying Thing In the World***: my brother. Nope, actually.

***The REALLY Annoying Thing In the World Besides my Brother***: Remembering what a series was about before you read the latest book.

No, trust me. It’s REALLY ANNOYING. It totally ruins the whole series. And I can’t rely on Wikipedia either because they don’t even have the full synopsis with all the small details that are always needed to understand plot points in a book. Take the Thief series, for example. I love the first three books, but I absolutely did not understand anything about the fourth book because I’d forgotten all about what had happened in the first three. And Megan Whalen Turner’s one of those authors where all of the books depend on each other and tie together everywhere. It’s impossible to describe just one book without having to mention what happened in another book. Sigh. bloop.

Is it my fault? Do I just have a really bad memory? Do I read too many books, follow too many series, know too many details? No. Waiting for books is just plain inconvenient. I got lucky with Tamora Pierce, though. All of her books were out, and the only one that isn’t out right now is Mastiff. Trust me, I remember Beka’s story. I have the god dang audiobook, for pete’s sake. (who is pete anyways? a saint?)

Anyways, this whole post is the product of the half realization that I have free time now. Lovely rant, isn’t it? Feel free to comment, Jaion and Maddie—I know you agree with whatever I said up there, so type away.

One last thing: I will definitely be doing at least 2 reviews from the list of books above, so check regularly.
